The Wichita Falls Nighthawks continued to introduce their training camp roster on Wednesday, with their wide receiver/tight end group:
Robert Armstrong: 6'1", 205 lbs. Standout at Texas A&M-Kingsville (D2) where he shared the LSC Receiver of the Year award in 2012. Holds TAMUK records for career receptions and receiving touchdowns, as well as single-game and single-season receptions. Went to rookie mini-camp with the Dallas Cowboys but was injured. Aiming to return to NFL with solid play this season.
Jerome McGee, Jr. ("Mighty Mouse"): 5'7", 168 lbs. IFL veteran who played for Nighthawks offensive coordinator Rod Miller with the Laredo Rattlesnakes in 2012 and 2013. Played college football at UC-Davis (FCS).
Jimmy Pipkin: 6'0", 205 lbs. Former outdoor Nighthawk who played collegiately at Midwestern State. Started both seasons for the Nighthawks.
Joe "Jo-Jo" Sawyer: 6'4", 255 lbs. Tight end prospect who played at Southwestern Oklahoma State and has gone to camp with several NFL franchises including San Francisco and Buffalo. 1st-team all Lone-Star Conference selection in 2009 at SWOSU.
Jasonus Tillery: 6'0", 210 lbs. Longtime indoor football veteran who played at four different colleges before trying out for the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins. Earned 1st-team All-IFL honors in 2012 when he was Offensive Rookie of the Year, scoring 27 touchdowns. Played last season for the Colorado Ice, who will face the Nighthawks at least four times this season.
Joseph Webb: 6'0, 198 lbs. Three-time All-Mountain East Conference selection for Urbana University (D2) in Ohio. Set career and single-season school records for receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.
The team will bring about 38 or 39 players to camp on February 1st, with one more tryout date to be announced shortly. The roster will be cut down to 21 active players and a four-man practice squad before the season begins.
