Shooting On Taft In Wichita Falls

Wichita Falls, TX -  Wichita Falls Police responded to a shooting early Thursday morning in the 2000 block of Taft Street.

The incident happened just after midnight. It was first a check welfare call and was later upgraded to a shooting.

According to the authorities, two or three black males forced entry into home demanding money at around midnight. The victim was shot in the back. The victim was taken to the hospital for his injuries, which authorities believed to be non-life threatening.

Police say there were two weapons, a shotgun and a handgun, but authorities don't know which weapon was the one that wounded the victim.

Officers spent majority of the morning combing the crime scene for evidence. A block of Taft Street was blocked off for several hours as investigators searched for any evidence that may provide them with answers. 

Wichita Falls Police currently have no suspects, and no arrests have been made. However, police are still searching for the person or persons responsible.
