Nighthawks Introduce Defensive Backs

The Wichita Falls Nighthawks introduced their defensive backs Thursday as they continued to announce their training camp roster:

James Ackel: 6'0", 210 lbs. Three-time All-RMAC First-team selection at Adams State (D2), conference leader in tackles in 2012. Invited to Indianapolis Colts mini-camp but dismissed due to concerns over neck surgery he had in college. Played for Nighthawks Coach James Kerwin with the Green Bay Blizzard (IFL) last season.

Neiko Conway: 5'10", 173 lbs. Earned multiple all-LSC and All-American honors at Midwestern State, where he ranks 2nd in school history in interceptions with fifteen.

Danny Jackson: 6'1", 205 lbs. Two-year starter for the outdoor Nighthawks team, played at Midwestern State in 2008-09, where he started 11 of 12 games his senior season as the Mustangs advanced to the NCAA playoffs.

Jestin Love: 6'0", 207 lbs. Played 47 games over four seasons at Central Arkansas (FCS), earning All-Southland Conference honors all four years. Attended rookie minicamp with the Atlanta Falcons this past summer.

Elisha Olabode: 5'9", 194 lbs. Started 24 games for TCU (FBS), including the 2011 Rose Bowl as a sophomore. Earned All-Big 12 honors as a junior in 2012.

Deante Purvis: 5'11", 195 lbs. Played on defense, offense and special teams at UNLV (FBS), where his 4.3 speed made him a dangerous kick return man. Attended training camp with the San Francisco 49ers in 2012, and has since played in the IFL including last season with the Colorado Ice.

Joe Williams: 5'9", 199 lbs. Three-year starter at cornerback for Baylor (FBS). Earned All-Big 12 honors in 2012 and played in the Fiesta Bowl in 2013. Earned National Player of the Week honors in 2012 after the Bears' upset win over Kansas State.

Camp opens on February 1st and the team will cut its roster from up to 40 at the start of camp to 21, plus a four-man practice squad, by the start of the regular season.
