Shooting Suspect Booked into Jail

A shooting suspect was taken into custody by Wichita Falls police Tuesday night.

Officers say just before 6:00 p.m. a search warrant was being served in the 700 Block of Barwise Street, near Cleveland Ave. and Martin Luther King Blvd.

Police say during the search warrant Ricky Fleeks was taken into custody around 9:00 a.m. as a suspect in the early morning shooting Sunday on Cleveland Ave.

Fleeks was arrested under probable cause. At the time of the shooting, when police arrived on the scene, Fleeks and the victim were seen sitting on the grassy median. Fleeks said someone drove by and shot the victim, but after officers investigated, they found that Fleeks' story didn't match up. Other charges are pending, and other suspects are being investigated.

No weapon has been recovered.

Around 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning one woman was shot three times in the chest and rushed to United Regional.

An update on her condition is unknown.

Fleeks has been charged with Aggravated Assault.

The 34-year-old's bond is set at $1,000,000.00.
