Retailers Brace For Rush Of Returns And Exchanges

Wichita Falls, TX- The holiday shopping season may be over, but retailers are bracing for end of year returns and exchanges. 

Do you have any unwanted holiday gifts? If so, here's your guide to make sure you receive the proper refund and exchange before it's too late.

Target has a 90 day return policy for most items. Electronics and entertainment items must be returned within 30 days. The company says if you purchased anything after Nov. 1 your 30 days starts the day after Christmas. REDcard holders have an additional 30 days.

The retail giant, Walmart is giving its customers 90 days to return most items, but if you purchased electronics after Nov. 1 you have 15 days to get those back in store.

Best Buy is allowing customers who have or will purchase items by the end of Dec. until Jan. 15 to return or exchange. Elite Card holders may use points to return at s later date.

Kohls which was open 24 hours leading up to Christmas Day has no deadline on its holiday return policy.

If you purchased a toy from Toys "R" Us after Sept. 1 you have until Jan. 24 to return items. For select electronic purchased after Nov. 1 you have until Jan. 9.

Each store has stringent return and exchange policies because of criminals cashing in on stolen items. According to the National Retail Federation annual survey, retailers loss an estimated $9.9 billion in 2013.
