TxDOT crews are putting in extra hours making sure the roads are safe for you. Transportation officials say they are fully stocked on salt and adding de-icing agents to the roads tonight and tomorrow.
"We are all ready with our materials. Everything is packed into the trucks and the trucks are out rolling right now. They'll continue to monitor it all this evening and stay on their 12-hour rotations and fight the storm when it comes through," said Adele Lewis of the Texas Department of Transportation.
All 82 of the region's trucks are on standby, ready for those long 12-hour shifts. They are making sure the roads are clear of any ice that could pose a danger.
