Community Comes Together to Remember Texoma Teen

     Balloons were released Monday evening at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wichita Falls honoring Gloria Montoya.

     Montoya and her cousin were killed in a wreck involving a former Wichita Falls Police Officer in June of 2011.  

     A family friend spoke with our crews as those who loved her, came together on her birthday to celebrate her life.

     "It's bittersweet you know, she'd be 17 years old today. She died when she was 13, so we all wonder what her life would be. But all we want for her birthday is to get this trial over and done with," Family Friend Lacy Aguilar said.

     Teddie Whitefield's bench trial is set to begin on Monday, January 12th. 

     He faces three counts of Manslaughter in the deaths of Montoya, her cousin Yeni Lopez and Lopez's unborn child.
