Midwestern State's Andrea Carter garnered Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors Monday afternoon when league officials announced weekly accolades.
The senior forward from Angleton dropped in a team-high 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds to help the Mustangs to a 77-64 win over No. 3-ranked West Texas A&M Wednesday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
It was MSU's first win over a team ranked in the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association Top 10 since joining NCAA Division II in 1997.
Carter knocked down 6-of-9 shots from the field while going 5-of-7 from the charity stripe against the Lady Buffs.
She followed the performance a 15-point, 8-rebound effort in a 26-point win over Eastern New Mexico on Sunday.
Carter averaged 16.0 points and 8.5 rebounds while shooting 61.1 percent from the field for the week.
