Mustang Men Enter D2Sida Poll at #24

Midwestern State jumped into the D2 Media Poll for the first time this season at No. 24, while the Mustangs also continue to receive votes in the National Association of Basketball Coaches' Poll. Both rankings were released Tuesday afternoon.

The Mustangs claimed their ninth and 10th consecutive taking decisions over West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico last week to improve to 14-3 on the season while going to a perfect 3-0 in Lone Star Conference play.

MSU is one of six teams from the rugged South Central Region to receive mention in the D2 Media Poll joining No. 8 Colorado Mines, No. 10 Angelo State (Texas), No. 12 Colorado-Colorado Springs and No. 15 Tarleton State (Texas) while Metropolitan State (Colo.) is receiving votes.

The Mustangs are one of eight teams from the South Central Region to receive mention in the NABC poll joining No. 5 Colorado Mines, No. 8 Colorado-Colorado Springs, No. 10 Tarleton State, No. 14 Angelo State, No. 17 Metropolitan State and No. 23 St. Edward's (Texas) while Texas A&M-Commerce is also receiving votes.

Midwestern State takes on rival Tarleton State Wednesday in Stephenville. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Wisdom Gym.

Women Jump to #6 in Media Poll, Enter USA Today Top 25

Midwestern State surged to No. 6 in the D2 Media Poll sponsored by the Division II Sports Information Directors of America while entering the USA Today Sports/Women's Basketball Coaches of America Top 25 at No. 20. Both polls were released Tuesday afternoon.

The Mustangs are off to the best start in program history while riding a 12-game winning streak to a 13-1 mark after claiming wins over No. 3-ranked West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico last week.

MSU improved seven spots in the D2 Media Poll and is one of four teams receiving votes out of the South Central Region joining No. 14 West Texas A&M and No. 23 Colorado-Colorado Springs while Colorado Mesa is receiving votes.

The Mustangs entered the USA Today Sports Top 25 for the first time since being ranked 10th in the 2013-14 preseason poll at No. 20.

MSU is one of just four teams from the South Central Region receiving mention in the poll joining No. 11 West Texas A&M while Colorado Mesa and Colorado-Colorado Springs are receiving votes.

Midwestern State takes on Tarleton State Wednesday night at Wisdom Gym in Stephenville. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.

Women's Soccer to Host ID Camp Jan. 31st

Midwestern State hosts a Women's Soccer ID Camp set for Saturday, Jan. 31 at the MSU Soccer practice fields.

The camp is open to high school athletes interested in playing college soccer and will run from noon to 3 p.m. The cost is $50 per player.

Registration for the ID Camp begins at 11 a.m. on Jan. 31 at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
