Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Wichita Falls Regional Airport

The Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Wichita Falls Regional Airport terminal this evening. The first flight to depart the new airport took off on December 17th.

Members of the community came out to check out the new terminal. Henry Florsheim, the President of the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce spoke with our crews.

"Whenever somebody comes to visit, they fly in, this is the first thing that they see. Whenever somebody leaves here to fly out, this is the last thing they're going to remember about Wichita Falls. The old terminal certainly did not do us justice. And it did not portray the picture we want to portray of Wichita Falls. This airport's extraordinary, not just for a city our size, but for anybody," he said.

City officials hope the $32 million project will help increase the number of people, who fly in and out of the city.
