The Wichita Falls Independent School District is looking at the possibility of building a career tech center.
WFISD will hold a meeting next week, allowing parents to sit in as community leaders and school board members discuss and debate over what the career tech center will be.
There is no word of the location or project cost. Ashley Thomas is the Communications Officer for WFISD. Thomas said that there will be more detail and specifics about what the career tech center will entail when the district makes their bond proposal.
“Working with local industries about what the needs are in our community for jobs and preparing students for those things while they are still in high school that's going to be a big benefit,” said Thomas.
The last bond proposal included a career tech center, but failed to pass. Thomas said that community input suggested that locals were in favor of a career tech center but not in favor of the proposed consolidation. This time around the district plans to only push for the career tech center.
