Midwestern State swept Lone Star Conference Player of the Week honors after rolling to its 11th straight win by beating Tarleton State for the second consecutive year last week in Stephenville.

Senior forward Abiodun Adegoke gained defensive player of the week honors, while junior guard Bretson McNeal gained top offensive honors.

Adegoke narrowly missed out on his second consecutive double-double but finished with nine points and 10 rebounds to go along with two blocked shots and a steal to key Midwestern State to a 78-76 win over Tarleton State Wednesday night in Stephenville.

The Buford, Ga. native spearheaded a strong defensive effort in the second half as MSU limited the Texans to 36.4 percent shooting from the field.

McNeal poured in a game-high 23 points by knocking down five 3-pointers including a key double-clutch triple with 2:51 to play after Tarleton State had cut MSU's lead to two.

The Minneapolis, Minn. product then sank two free throws with 11 seconds to play to give MSU a two-possession lead. It was his fifth 20-point effort of the season.

Midwestern State battles Angelo State for the outright lead in the Lone Star Conference Wednesday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
