For the Farmers in Texoma whose livelihood has suffered due to the ongoing drought, a new hope had sprouted.

The Farm Service Agency (FSA) is now accepting applications for physical and production losses emergency farm loans.  Wilbarger County farm loan manager, Kelley R. Boone, asks farmers who want to apply for emergency loans to submit their applications as soon as possible.

The deadline for applications is September 8, 2015, but Boone says if farmers wait too long, a backlog will develop and cause delays.

Farmers who have lost 30 percent of their production based on damages and losses caused by drought January 1, 2014 in Archer, Baylor, Clay, Jack, Knox, Montague, Wichita, Wilbarger and Wise counties, are eligible for the emergency loans.
