January marks three years since a man known as "Mo" to the Texoma community was murdered at his convenience store on Old Iowa Park Road in Wichita Falls.
Today, a new store stands in its place, Jose Beer and Wine.
Jose Beer and Wine sells everything from cleaning supplies to food and drinks. Owner, Jose Hinojosa never met Mo or knew him personally, but he told Newschannel 6 that many people have come in his store talking about him.
“They talk about what a great person he was, that he was always helping people. We're trying to do the same thing that Mo did. We're not just here for business, but we're also trying to make relationships with the customers here, "said Hinojosa.
The location of Jose Beer and Wine on the corner of Old Iowa Park Road means something.
“We decided to come to this location for the community in this area. I've noticed that a lot of people in this area have to drive 2 or 3 miles just to get anything. I think everyone needs a corner store, a place where you can stop get what you need," said Hinojosa.
Today, Hinojosa also said that he is not worried about this locations history of crime.
“No, not really. I don't think that there are bad people out there. I think it's just bad decisions. Where ever he's at right now, he's happy because we've got his business back up and running," said Hinojosa.
The men charged with shooting Mo, Michael Graves and Clifton Russel, were both convicted of capital murder in 2014.
