Castaway Cove Begins Construction on New Waterslide

Castaway Cove has officially begun construction on the new Aqualoop waterslide attraction set to open this summer.

Construction is well underway on the new installation.  The new ride is the first of its kind in Texas, and features a daredevil drop from a 62-foot tower straight into a breathtaking 360-degree loop- all at 40 miles per hour and 59 feet per second.  Crews have begun erection of the 62-foot tower that will allow riders to step into the unique launch capsule on their way to a water-soaked thrill ride.

The new ride is scheduled to be completed and in operation by opening day, May 9, 2015.

Fans of Castaway Cove won't just be able to ride the new ride; they'll also be able to name it.  The park is hosting a NAME THE SLIDE contest beginning in late February that will allow guests a chance to participate in naming the new attraction.  Those interested in entering can check the water park's official Facebook page for more details that will be announced soon.

Castaway Cove is centrally located in Wichita Falls off the Windthorst Exit, off Hwy 287 South at 1000 Central Freeway East.
