Samsung SmartTV's can record your personal and private conversations. The new Samsung SmartTv's have a feature that uses voice recognition to operate the TV.

If you have this voice recognition feature turned on, then you are allowing the device to constantly record in order to meet commands made by your voice. But even if you are not directly talking to the TV some spoken words within the mic are being collected.

I went to a Samsung Smart TV's distributor earlier and had a store employee look through the box and buyers guide. After taking around 15-20 minutes of reading both of us were unable to locate any language that talked about the voice recognition software or third parties. You have to go to the Samsung SmartTV Privacy Policy in order to learn about recordings and third parties.

"Please be aware that if your spoken words include personal or other sensitive information, that information will be among the data captured and transmitted to a third party through your use of Voice Recognition," according to the Samsung SmartTV Privacy Policy. (Click to read policy)

So if you own one of these TV's make sure your voice recognition is only on when you need to use it.
