Vernon's Drennan Signs with Rose State College

Vernon baseball star Josh Drennan signed a letter of intent Thursday to play for Rose State College in Midwest City, Oklahoma!

Drennan batted .393 as a junior in 2014, registering 16 extra-base hits and 19 runs batted in over 24 games for the Bi-District champion Lions.

In Oklahoma, he will join local RSC commits Koy Daws of Wichita Falls HS and Hayden Proctor of Rider, who are both scheduled to sign on Monday.

Drennan said he's excited to keep playing baseball at the college level, and to get up to Midwest City, which has a population of about 50 thousand and sits on the eastern side of the Oklahoma City metro area. He said he was drawn by how close the college's campus is to downtown OKC, including the Thunder's Chesapeake Energy Center.

"I've been in Vernon pretty much all my life," Drennan said Thursday after signing. "I kinda want to get out and see what the real world's about; have fun."

The Lions open up their 2015 season February 26th at the Jacksboro HS Tournament.
