A lot's changed in the last 40 years, but since 1975 Indiana born Wichita Falls native Rick Watson has been able to one thing consistent. Since 1975 Watson has been working in the same city, at the same job, for the same business, inside the same garage.
"Basically I like Wichita Falls I've been here since the 1960's. I went to Huey Elementary School and I went to Hirschi High School. I never went to college, I went right to work when I got out of High School and I stick with what I did," said Watson.
Though he's a mechanic now, he said he had to start at the bottom.
"I swept floors and emptied the garbage to get in the shop. Then eventually they let me work on stuff," said Watson.
Though others have come and gone, Watson said he's never seen a need to leave. Watson said he found a good job and wanted to stick with it.
"I don't mind getting dirty for the day I mean they pay for the uniforms I don't mind working on the ground. I try to work hard and do a good job help everybody." said Watson.
In the last 40 years Watson's title of mechanic stayed the same, but he's never worked on the same bike for the same job more than once. Watson said there was always a different challenge every day. He' said he does not plan on slowing down anytime soon.
"I'm going to work until I can't and I don't want to go home and retire," said Watson.
Watson was presented with an award by his employer for his forty years of service.
