MSU Women Blow out ENMU

 Midwestern State flexed its depth in a 94-46 rout of Eastern New Mexico Saturday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.

Fourteen different players scored as the Mustangs improved to 19-4 on the season and 10-3 in Lone Star Conference play.

MSU takes on Angelo State Wednesday night at Junell Center in San Angelo. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.

Senior forward Andrea Carter led the way wit 17 points and narrowly missed her 10th double-double of the season with nine rebounds, but it was senior guard Dianna Jones who got the Mustangs going in the first half.

The senior from Hewitt knocked down a pair of 3-pointers to spur a game-opening 19-2 run then canned another to give the Mustangs a 36-8 lead with 7:50 to go in the opening half.

Jones, who hit a fourth triple in the second half, finished with 14 points in just 17 minutes of court time.

Midwestern delivered another 14-2 run late in the first half extending the lead to 34 points on Hannah Selzer's 3-ball from the right wing to push the edge to 44-10.

The Mustangs would lead by as many as 53 points in the second half.

Senior forward Taylor Dowd matched a career high with 16 points hitting on 7-of-10 shots from the floor.

Jasmine Johnson paced the Zias with 14 points and nine rebounds off of the bench while junior guard Sarah Stinnett splashed in 12 points for Eastern New Mexico which fell to 8-14 on the season and 4-8 in league play.
