Wichita Falls City Council Approves Railcar Expansion Project

A business that is new to Wichita Falls is facing an expansion with the help of Wichita Falls city leaders.

Tuesday morning, the Wichita Falls City Council amended the budget of the Economic Development Corporation to include up to $928,800 for the expansion of the Eagle Railcar Services Expansion Project.

The funding will be used to modify and upgrade the railcars in order to better transport items, such as hazardous materials.

Eagle Railcar owns and operates four facilities, two in other parts of Texas,one in Ohio and the fourth was built in Wichita Falls to provide the full service line of repair maintenance and recertification of railroad cars.

The new service company is expected to bring in more than 60 jobs to the city.
