Wichita Falls Liberty Tree

Wichita Falls Masonic Lodge #635 is proud to announce an event benefiting the men and women of the 80th OSS at SAFB as well as the Kemp Center for the Arts. The Wichita Falls Liberty Tree is planned for February 28th at 6:30 p.m. at the Kemp Center.

In celebration of the 250th anniversary of this famous tree,  lanterns will be hung in a tree at the Kemp Center.  There will be music, speech recitations, and even an address by Gen. George Washington.

The lanterns will be themed to represent the various donors by being painted with their company or organization logo. This family event is free to attend. Colonial or Patriotic dress is encouraged.

A little background on The Liberty Tree:
The Liberty Tree (1765–1775) was a famous elm tree that stood in Boston near Boston Common, in the days before the American Revolution. Colonists in Boston staged the first act of defiance against the British government at the tree. The tree became a rallying point for the growing resistance to the rule of Britain over the American colonies.
