Many Texomans were ready for a freezing good time Saturday morning. Special Olympics Texas hosted a Polar Plunge at the Holiday Inn Express in Wichita Falls.
A Polar Plunge is when you take a dip and dive into freezing water.
Many people in attendance were dressed in costume as they braced for their dive all for a good cause.
“It's just fun to see all the different people that come out and how creative they can be for our athletes,” said Special Olympics Texas Area 9 Director, Michael Strickland.
Over $4,000 was raised at the Polar Plunge.
Special Olympics Texas changes lives through the power of sport, by encouraging and empowering people with intellectual disabilities, promoting acceptance for all and fostering communities of understanding and respect.
