The Wichita Falls Nighthawks did not waste any time sending a player on to the National Football League, announcing on their Facebook page Tuesday that linebacker Josh Francis (West Virginia) is headed to Green Bay to sign with the Packers!
Francis went to Wisconsin last week for a tryout, before returning to camp and playing in the Nighthawks' pre-season game against the TIFL Stealth. He made an early impact, registering a big tackle for loss on the game's first play from scrimmage.
In another signing, team owner Drew Carnes told Newschannel 6 Tuesday that defensive back Jestin Love (Central Arkansas) is expected to sign with the CFL's Edmonton Eskimos.
The Nighthawks are expected to announce their 21-man season-opening roster on Wednesday, and will make their IFL debut Sunday, March 1st in Ft. Collins, Colo. against the Colorado Ice.
