Man Charged with Steak Theft

The question of “Where's the beef?” was what Walmart workers wanted to ask a customer they claim tried making off with a lot of meat.

Wichita Falls police say  61-year-old Grady Henry Harper was accused of allegedly attempting to steal 13 packages of steaks.

Police say they were called to the Walmart on Central Freeway last week, in reference to a theft. According to the arrest affidavit, Harper placed the 13 steaks and 1 bag of potatoes in a reusable shopping bag and then put the merchandise between his legs, while he sat in an electric shopping cart.

Police say Harper then hid the meat and potatoes and walked out without paying.

The total cost was a little over $225.

Police say Harper has a lengthy criminal history, which includes two prior convictions for theft.

Harper has been charged with Theft under $1500 with 2 Prior Convictions.
