Game Times, Ticket Prices Set for South Central Regional in Stephenville

Tipoff times and ticket information is set for the 2015 NCAA Division II South Central Men's Regional this weekend at Tarleton State's Wisdom Gym in Stephenville.

Seventh-seeded Midwestern State takes on No. 2-seeded Metropolitan State-Denver (Colo.) in the opening round Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. after third-seeded Texas A&M-Commerce and No. 6-seeded Angelo State open the first session of tournament play at noon.

Host and top-seeded Tarleton State tips off the second session against No. 8-seed St. Mary's (Texas) at 6 p.m. followed by No. 4-seed Colorado-Colorado Springs and No. 5-seed Colorado Mines at 8:30 p.m.

The Midwestern State/Metropolitan State-Denver winner takes on the Texas A&M-Commerce/Angelo State winner in the first semifinal game on Sunday at 5 p.m. while the Tarleton State/St. Mary's and Colorado-Colorado Springs/Colorado Mines winners face off at 7:30 p.m.

The championship game is set for 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

The winner of the South Central Region advances to the NCAA Division II Men's Elite Eight set for March 25, 26 and 28 at the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. and may be purchased at the Tarleton State Athletics Ticket Booth by calling (254) 968-1832.

All-tournament reserved seats cost $40 (if available) while all-tournament adult general admission tickets run $25 and all-tournament student passes are $10. Single session adult general admission tickets are $7 while student admission tickets cost $3.

Tickets for the tournament are available at the cost of $10 for a reserved chairback day pass and $5 for a general admission day pass. Student and children's general admission day passes are available for $4.

Tipoff times and ticket information is set for the 2015 NCAA Division II South Central Regional this weekend at West Texas A&M's First United Bank Center in Canyon.

Third-seeded Midwestern State leads off tournament play with a first round showdown with sixth-seeded Colorado Christian at noon on Friday while No. 2-seed Colorado-Colorado Springs closes the first session against No. 7-seed Colorado State-Pueblo at 2:30 p.m.

Host and top-seeded West Texas A&M opens the second session against No. 8-seed Cameron at 5 p.m. followed by No. 4-seed Colorado Mesa and No. 5-seed Arkansas-Fort Smith at 7:30 p.m.

The Midwestern State/Colorado Christian winner takes on the Colorado-Colorado Springs/Colorado State-Pueblo winner in the first semifinal game on Saturday at 5 p.m. while the West Texas A&M/Cameron and Colorado Mesa/Arkansas-Fort Smith winners face off at 7:30 p.m.

Mustang Women Ranked 19th in D2 Media Poll

Midwestern State jumped back into the D2 Media Poll at No. 19 and is receiving votes in the USA Today Sports/WBCA Top 25 released Tuesday afternoon.

The Mustangs advanced to the Lone Star Conference Postseason Tournament finals taking wins over Eastern New Mexico (70-49) and Texas A&M-Commerce (65-60) before falling in a hard fought championship 73-70 to West Texas A&M.

MSU (23-6) opens NCAA Division II South Central Regional Championship play with a first round matchup with Colorado Christian Friday afternoon at the First United Bank Center in Canyon. Tipoff is set for noon.

The Mustangs are one of four teams from the South Central Region to receive mention in both polls as West Texas A&M is ranked third and Colorado-Colorado Springs is 24th in the D2 Media Poll while Colorado Mesa is receiving votes.

The Lady Buffs are rated fifth in the USA Today Sports/WBCA Top 25 while both the MSU and Colorado Mesa are receiving votes.

Alaska-Anchorage tops both polls with Limestone (S.C.) following at No. 2.

MSU Tennis to Host Campus Kids' Day Saturday

Midwestern State plays host to East Central (Okla.) as part of United State Tennis Association Kids' Days Saturday morning at the MSU Tennis Center.

First service for both the men and women is set for 9 a.m.

The Mustangs will honor MSU President Dr. Jessie Rogers with free pizza available between singles and doubles play.

A kids' serving competition will be held following the match with chances to win MSU t-shirts. The event culminates with a meet and greet with each player of the men's and women's squads.

The MSU men's tennis team (7-2) rides a four-match winning streak into Saturday's showdown with East Central, while the women have claimed wins in two of their last three to improve to 4-3 on the season.

USTA Campus Kids' Days are designed to expose current and aspiring junior players (and their parents and coaches) to college tennis.
