Skywarn 6 Road Show Fair: Free, Fun & Informative!

The 5th Annual Skywarn 6 Weather Road Show wraps up on Saturday, March 28, at Sikes Senter Mall in Wichita Falls.

The fair lasts from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the mall's JC Penny Court. The day promises to be fun and informative.

Presentations include:

12:00 Cloud Seeding: This is an informative session hosted by S.O.A.R. Cloud Seeding Operations Manager Gary Walker.  *This session is informative only and does not reflect any views or opinions of Newschannel 6.

1:00 '79 Tornado Survivor Panel: Terrible Tuesday survivors submitted their stories to the Skywarn 6 team for the chance to participate in this live panel. After looking through submissions, the team picked four survivors to share their emotional stories with Texoma.

2:00 Thunderstorms in Texoma: Meteorologists James Parish and Dave Caulfield will present a session that will teach you about the different types of thunderstorms and how to spot them. Also learn how many happen in Texoma each year and how many turn severe. They'll also give you lifesaving lessons!

3:00 Storm Spotter Training: The National Weather Service will give a storm spotter training course to anyone who has a fascination with storms. Learn skills to be a storm spotter and help get critical information to the NWS.

4:00 Drought's Impact on Severe Weather: Skywarn 6 Chief Meteorologist Ken Johnson takes the stage to talk about Texoma's drought situation. He will reveal how it is impacting our Spring weather pattern, and he looks ahead to the hope for better rain chances this year.
