Woman Charged for Drug Possession

An Oklahoma City woman was arrested by Wichita Falls Police for an incident that happened last May on Tuesday.

Police say 21-year-old Maranda Dunn was a passenger in a car that officers were trying to pull over for two traffic violations.

Authorities say the driver of a Dodge Avenger sped off, leading police on a short chase that ended when the Dodge slammed into a tree at 32nd and Bluff.

Police say the driver ran away on foot, leaving Dunn behind.

The arrest affidavit states that Dunn told police the substance they thought were real drugs were in fact, fake.

However, the drugs, nearly 45 grams of meth, were quite real.

No arrests were made at the time, but a warrant was later issued for Dunn's arrest.
