An Electra Man In Custody After Chase

A 28-year-old Electra man is in custody Monday morning after a police chase.

The chase started as a 'check suspicious vehicle' call on Highway 25 and Business 287 in Electra just after 1:00 Monday morning.

Police attempted to pull the driver over but he then fled the scene.

There were five Electra units and four Wichita County units involved with the chase.

The driver, identified as Armando Escalante, crashed into a ditch on Brosch Road and Old Lake Road, approximately one half mile from State Highway 240.

Escalante is facing two charges of Aggravated Assault on a police officer, one charge of Evading Arrest. It's possible more charges could be filed. Escalante already had a warrant out for his arrest from the Wichita Falls Sheriff's Office.

Escalante is now in the Wichita County Jail.
