Woman Accused of Stealing from Non-Profit Organization

A non-profit organization in Wichita Falls has become a victim after police say a trusted employee stole more than $52,000.

Wichita Falls Police say 42-year-old Jennifer Bohanon used the stolen money to pay for her personal Avon website, her home mortgage, insurance and for other purchases.

The arrest affidavit indicates that the investigation began in January of this year, when officials at Jay Lowder Harvest Ministries noticed discrepancies which revealed that Bohanon had opened an American Express account in the Ministries name to make personal purchases, as well as to make money transfers to her personal account.

The affidavit also indicates the theft happened from October, 2008 to January of this year.

Bohanon has been charged with Theft Over $20,000 Under $100,000/Enhanced Due To Victim Being A Non-Profit Organization

Bohanon has since bonded out of jail.
