Notre Dame Tennis Sends 4 to State Tournament

Moving up to Class 2A didn't seem to affect the Notre Dame tennis team much. The Knights qualified four competitors to the TAPPS State Tournament Monday in the District 1-2A Tournament at Weeks Park Tennis Center in Wichita Falls.

In Girls' Doubles, the team of Isabel Diaz and Katy Meadows took second place after falling to defending state champions Amy Gruden and Hailey Costin of Denton Calvary by a score of 6-2, 6-1 in the finals.

In Girls' Singles, exchange student Anna Morimoto, of Japan, reached the finals before falling to Grace Wickersham of Calvary 6-0, 6-1. The top three girls' finishers in both singles and doubles qualified for State.

In Boys' singles, Patrick Brady earned third place by defeating Lubbock Christ the King's Jonathan Andrew 6-1, 7-5, and earned his way to State. The top four boys' finishers in both singles and doubles qualified for State.
