Emilea Peoples Signs to Play At Cisco College

Burkburnett senior Emilea Peoples signed a scholarship to play soccer at Cisco College on Tuesday morning in the BHS Principal's Office.

Peoples scored 23 goals this season for the Lady Bulldogs, and was named District 3-4A's Offensive Player of the Year after leading the Lady Bulldogs to their first-ever District Title.

Peoples follows in the footsteps of several older brothers who all played sports in college after starring in Burkburnett.

She said she's unsure where her new coach will have her play, but that he told her she'll be somewhere in the center of the field, whether that's on offense, defense or in the midfield.

"It's been my dream since I started the game, because I saw all my brothers," Peoples said. "You know, whether it was soccer or baseball, they all signed, so I was like, 'I'm gonna do it one day.' And then I did, and when I went out there and practiced with the team, it just felt very comfortable and very natural so I just knew that was it."
