W.F.P.D. Arrest Stabbing Suspect

A man accused of stabbing a woman in the back Sunday morning is behind bars facing numerous charges.

Wichita Falls Police were called out to Fillmore, in reference to a woman screaming. When they got there, they found a woman who had been stabbed in the back.

Officers say Stanley Harper, 35, broke into the victim's apartment through a window and once inside assaulted her.

Police said the victim was on the phone with dispatchers when Harper stabbed her and then took off. She was rushed to the hospital to be treated.

Harper was later located at a home in the 1600 block of Central Freeway where he was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Habitation (with intent to commit other felony - aggravated assault) and Interference with Emergency Telephone call.  He is currently being held in the Wichita County Jail.

Police say, this was not a random act of violence. The victim and suspect knew each other.
