Vernon City Leaders Cut More Jobs, Reduce Hours

City leaders are laying off personnel and cutting the hours of city workers in an effort to get back on track financially.

Four members of Vernon's Police Department have been laid off from their jobs. The city cut two animal control officers, a secretary position and a detective position.

The city is cutting hours for eight city workers, including the city secretary and the finance officer.

These workers will lose four  hours per week until around September 30th, 2015.
