9th Annual Community Health Fair

The Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District is hosting the Ninth Annual Community Health Fair, Saturday, April 11th. The event is from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Health District, 1700 3rd Street.

The theme of this year's fair is "Healthiest Wichita County 2030.” The goal is to educate the public on how to attain a healthier lifestyle.

Wichita County was ranked 151 out of 232 counties in the state in the 2014 County Health Rankings.  Health behaviors, such as adult smoking, adult obesity and physical inactivity, made up a portion of the County Health Rankings and unfortunately Wichita County was ranked 191 out of 232.  Wichita County consistently scored lower than the state average when it came to these modifiable behaviors.

You can bring the whole family and friends out to the free health fair. You can enjoy a wide variety of agencies, services, fun and games including: the bike rodeo, Zumba, health screenings, food preparation demonstrations, Community Healthcare Center Mobile Dental Van, Animal Services dog walk, smoking cessation information, nutrition improvement, diabetes advice and much more.

These local health resources are available in Wichita County to help communities become healthier places to live, work and play. For more information please contact Joanna Patterson at 940-761-7874.
