Police: Man Arrested After Beating Up His Girlfriend

Wichita Falls, TX. - On Friday, April 10, 2015 around 4:18 p.m., a Clay County Deputy and a Clay County Sheriff's Office investigator were dispatched to FM 171 in reference to an assault.

The victim told authorities that at midnight, she and her boyfriend, 32-year-old Johnny Wayne Morrison were traveling on MLK Boulevard when Morrison stopped the vehicle and started hitting her in the face with his fists. Then, they started travelling toward lower Charlie Road and Morrison kept hitting her as he drove.

The victim told investigators that Morrison stopped the vehicle, and dragged her out of the vehicle by her hair before he started hitting her again. The also said they got back into the vehicle and went to Morrison's home, where he threatened her, her family, and her children, if she called authorities.

Investigators observed that she had a swollen left eye, that the back of both her arms were severely bruised, and that there were abrasions on her arms and left leg.

Clay County authorities found a 22-caliber revolver and a box of bullets in the home, and arrested Morrison who was charged with Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon and Aggravated Assault Causes Serious Bodily Injury-Family Violence.

Morrison has previous convictions for murder, indecency with a child.
