Holliday ISD Builds Tank to Capture Runoff Water

Wichita Falls, TX. - Holliday ISD is near completion of a 1 ½ acre tank created to capture runoff water from school property.

As part of the 2014 Construction Bond Project, Holliday ISD had a storm water runoff plan completed. The plan included elevations and drainage areas showing that runoff water from school facilities ran to unused land located northeast of the school. An existing small tank was located in the area, but it did not catch a significant amount of water.

The project included cleaning up around the existing tank and construction of a new tank. The new tank will serve several purposes. It will help control storm water runoff, decrease erosion, remove silt from runoff water and serve as a source of irrigation water for the school grounds and athletic fields.

When the tank is 75% full it will hold approximately 2 million gallons of water.

The project is being funded by donations from Jody Wade Enterprises and The Holliday Athletic Booster Club.
