WFHS's Keath Signs with NCTC Softball

Wichita Falls High School softball standout Brittany Keath joined the list of Texoma athletes signing to play at the next level on Thursday.

She signed to play for North Central Texas College, where she will be teammates with Burkburnett's Kaylea Armstrong.

So far in 2015 she is batting .280 with a .357 on-base percentage and 13 runs batted in while handling the catching duties for the Lady Coyotes, but said she'll be moving back to the middle infield in Gainesville.

But she said it doesn't matter what position she plays because all she wants is to keep playing the sport she loves.

"It's amazing, I mean literally, I live, breathe, sleep softball," Keath said. "And it just feels so good to know that I've worked so hard my whole life to get to where I am now, and it's like, 'I did it. I made it.' So, it feels great!"

She said she was drawn to NCTC partly because of their coach, Van Hedrick.

"I got to play with the coach's daughter," shed said. "And seeing how strict he was on her, and how he wanted her to be better, I felt like he wanted the same thing for me. I put my trust in all my coaches, and to know that I can do that with him, instantly, felt amazing."
