The Kitchen Honors Volunteers at Appreciation Dinner

Wichita Falls, TX. - The Kitchen honored outstanding Meals on Wheels volunteers and named its Volunteer of the Year at the annual appreciation dinner on Thursday, April 16, 2015. 

Judy Gilkerson was named Meals on Wheels Volunteer of the Year for 2015. 

The event was held at The Kitchen's Red Door Senior Citizens Center at the corner of 10th and Burnett streets.

Liz Pando, the Volunteer Coordinator for Meals on Wheels, says they hold this dinner due to April being Volunteer Appreciation Month, “We have over 400 volunteers, so for us this is something we want to give back, since they are the backbone of our organization. We just appreciate it and we're always looking for more volunteers.”
