Coyotes Offer Basketball Coaching Job

Wichita Falls High School has offered its vacant Head Boys' Basketball Coach position to Mark Malone, according to WFHS Athletic Coordinator Danny Russell.

Malone is currently the head coach at Bastrop Cedar Creek HS, where he started the program in 2010. Malone has a record of 38-94 in four varsity seasons for the young school, which only got its first senior class in his second season.

Malone started his coaching career at his alma mater, LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas, spending a year as an assistant before coaching girls basketball for a year at Jewett Leon.

His next stop was Boyd, in Wise County, where he led the Yellowjackets to the 2005 Regional Quarterfinals.

He spent three seasons with Hallsville before leaving for Simms Bowie, where he coached for two seasons before heading to Cedar Creek.

In all he would bring 14 years of coaching experience.

He has not yet officially accepted the WFHS job, and would still need to be approved by the WFISD Board before making anything official.
