TxDOT Issues Road Alerts

Wichita Falls, Texas  – Flooding caused by Wednesday night's storms have closed several roads. TxDOT officials are advising drivers to avoid these roads in order to prevent accidents.

Standing water has closed FM 368 in Archer county.  TxDOT employees are stationed at various intersections from FM 1954 to Lake Kickapoo.  They are turning back drivers.  TxDOT is advising drivers to avoid this route. Cars are high discouraged but some trucks have been able to make it.

Water is rising on SH 101 at the Montague/Wise county line. Only trucks are being allowed through right now at 1 p.m.  Cars are being detoured.  This site may become completely closed to all traffic at any time.

Motorists are encouraged to monitor weather and roads conditions for flooding reports. TxDOT travel conditions are available at their website.  And drivers are being warned to not drive on any roadway with standing water as storms and drainage continues.
