Wichita Falls Police Department Holds Memorial Service

Wichita Falls, Texas - The Wichita Falls Police Department held its annual Police Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m. on Monday in front of the Police Department.

The service honored those that made the ultimate sacrifice in police service, including seven of their own officers.

“We do it to make sure that we don't forget.  That we remember our fallen and we give them the tribute they deserve,” said Wichita Falls Police Chief, Manuel Borrego. “It's a very dangerous job out there, there has been over one thousand police officers killed in the last ten years.”

This year marks the 125th anniversary of the Wichita Falls Police Department.
