Emergency Operations Center Now Open

Wichita Falls, Texas - Wichita Falls have given a press release about the opening of the Emergency Operations Center:

The City of Wichita Falls has opened the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) for preparation and response to potential flooding in the city limits. The Emergency Management team will be sending notifications to the possible affected areas, which include Tanglewood and portions of the East Side, this afternoon, if flooding is expected.

Residents are urged to contact the EOC at 761-7909 or the Public Information Office at 761-7401 for information and updates. All updates and advisories will be posted to the City's Facebook page "Official City of Wichita Falls, TX," and Twitter; citizens should also sign up for free email notices through Notify Me on the City's

Should flooding occur, residents are urged NOT to enter the flood waters on foot, by vehicle or any other method. Flood waters are unpredictable, dangerous and pose a significant health hazard.
