Electric Service Shut Off Explained

Wichita Falls, Texas-  Wichita Falls City leaders released a statement describing that City Emergency Management Team members have directed ONCOR Electric Delivery representatives to shut electric service off to a designated section of the lower Tanglewood neighborhood at approximately 2:00 p.m. today.

Based on current flood predictions, the power will be shut off within the lower Tanglewood neighborhood between Turtle Creek Road and Brazos Street and north of Tanglewood Drive. This also include the Brandywine Addition. The current outage area could expand if additional rainfall and flooding should occur.

At this time electric service will not be shut off to the East Side of the city, around Scotland Park or near the MPEC. This too could change with increased rainfall. Power will be shut off to Lucy Park and the hotel located near the Falls.
