City Officials Talk About Sandbags and Mosquitoes

Wichita Falls, Texas – City leaders would like to tell residents in Wichita Falls who would like to dispose of sandbags can drop them off at the old Brookshire's Grocery Store location at the corner of Loop 11 and Seymour Highway. The bags should be placed on the wooden pallets in the parking lot.

Additionally, the Health District's Environmental Division is spraying for adult mosquitoes as weather permits. Please call 940-761-7890 to request mosquito spraying.

The Health District also has bags of larvacidal granules available free of charge. These granules can be used on areas of standing water to prevent mosquito breeding.

Granules can be picked up at the Health District located at 1700 3rd Street; Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Health District staff will advise those receiving the granules on how to correctly implement their use. However, the Health District is not providing mosquito repellent/spray.
