Food Park Set To Open In Downtown Wichita Falls

Wichita Falls, TX - The highly anticipated food park in downtown Wichita Falls is set to open up Thursday at 11 a.m.

The park was originally set to open in April, but plans were delayed because owners were in the process of obtaining a liquor license.

Jim Brock, Project Manager at The Yard, Wichita Falls Food Park says everything is squared away and they are ready to give Texomans an experience they cannot get any place else in the city.

The 15,000 sq. ft. food truck park located on 703 Ohio Avenue has been a vision long in the making. It will feature American, a variety of Mexican, gourmet pizza, and BBQ cuisines, along with a shaved ice truck during hot Texas summer days.

Some of the amenities include: a bar, park benches, tables, covered shading, public rest rooms, and night time lighting, but what management says they are most excited about, 'live' entertainment on the weekends.

"We just feel like the live music will offer something to everybody, the family as well as the younger crowd," said Brock. We're going to be using live music as well as live musicians. Some of which or known in this area and some or just are getting their start."

Management says they have five trucks that are committed to 'The Yard' full-time. They also plan to bring in other food trucks from other areas and give local foodies a chance to explore other options.

The food truck lot is expected to employee up to a dozen part-time jobs, ranging from bartenders, maintenance and grounds keepers. It will also give local musical talent the opportunity to showcase their talent to customers as well.

Opening weekend two local artist will perform, local Country artist Brandon Southard and Glory Hartfield.

Hours of Operation:

Sunday - Thursday 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.

Friday & Saturday 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.

An off duty security will be provided each day from 7 p.m. - until.
