2 People Died After Vehicle Crashes Into A Wichita Falls Creek

Wichita Falls, TX-

Two of the four men involved in an accident that sent a vehicle into Holiday Creek have died, according to Wichita Falls Police.

Police told Newschannel 6 the incident happened around 1:15 a.m. on the Access Road along Highway 287.

The driver of the vehicle, 21- year old Omar Vera, was traveling southbound before losing control and driving off the road. The vehicle slammed into the city's circle trail system and ended up in the Holiday Creek, right between Patterson BMW and Patterson Honda dealerships. 

Inside of the vehicle were four males including the driver. Police say two of the passengers managed to get out of the vehicle on their own, but the other two, 19-year-old Juan Calixto and 17-year-old Antonio Sanchez, were pulled out of the submerged vehicle by emergency personnel.  

Calixto and Sanchez later died of their injuries.

Vera is now charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
