Cancer Survivors Celebrate Overcoming

Cancer survivors and their families gathered Tuesday night to celebrate overcoming.

Survivors and their guests enjoyed an evening of good food, entertainment, and special celebrity waiters, including Newschannel 6 anchors Chris Horgen and Ashley Fitzwater.

The event, which leads up to the Relay for Life this Friday, reminded survivors that they are not alone.

“This is a huge support system for cancer survivors. I think they see everyone out there that supports them and is behind them. You know everybody goes through this battle together. Nobody has to do it alone,” said Sherry Muhlbauer, whose sister is a cancer survivor.

We here at Newschannel 6 want to send a special congratulations to our own Karel Davis, who will celebrate 10 years of survivorship this August.
