Woman Charged With Child Abandonment

Wichita Falls, Texas – Wichita Falls Police say a woman was arrested after she allegedly left her children alone for over over five hours.

According to the Wichita Falls Police, officers arrived at the Highpoint Village Apartments in reference to a check welfare call.

A witness stated that three children, aged 2, 6 and 7-years-old, were left alone in an apartment. Officers arrived and attempted to make contact with the children for about 15 minutes when the mother arrived on the scene.

The witness said the mother was gone since 5 p.m. to 10:50 p.m., though the mother told police that she went to Walmart, and was only gone for 10 minutes.

When officers inspected the apartment, the inside of the apartment was dirty and encrusted with cockroaches.  Officers also said that there was little to no food inside, and what food was there was spoiled or rotting.

Child Protective Services was called and the children were placed with family members. Little was arrested and charged with three counts of Abandoning or Endangering a Child and was taken to the Wichita County Jail. However, Little has since bonded out.
