Man Admits to Shooting at Murder Victim a Month Before His Death

Wichita Falls, Texas - A Wichita Falls man is behind bars after police say he admitted to shooting at Domanic Thrasher a month before he was gunned down and killed.

According to the arrest affidavit, on the morning of May 3


officers were called out to shots fired call at the Plantation Apartments located on Austin Street.  However, when officers arrived, they couldn't find any suspects or witnesses.

When Domanic Thrasher was murdered on June 2


, numerous tips identified 27-year-old Devery  Mitchell as the potential shooter.

When police interviewed Mitchell, Mitchell denied any involvement in Thrasher's murder, but admitted to using a handgun to shoot at Thrasher during an altercation at the Plantation Apartments on May 3rd.

Mitchell has been charged with Unlawful Possession of Firearm.
