Wichita Falls, Texas - FEMA and local representatives are available in Wichita Falls to assist Wichita County residents who sustained property damage during the recent floods, although according to city officials, residents will only have until Friday to register.

FEMA's registration intake center will be open until June 19th, as opposed to FEMA's earlier statement of remaining open until June 27th.

Registration will be held at the Wichita Falls Public Library, 2nd Floor, 600 11th Street, Wichita Falls. The hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and closed Sunday.

According to FEMA Public Information Officer Greg Hughes, people can apply for flood recovery assistance whether they had insurance or not.

FEMA officials ask that those who apply to bring a driver's license, address of the damage, itemized description of the damage, and policy number and coverage description of any insurance. The registration takes about 20 minutes.
